Arthur Cooper is a member of Chapter 24 in Maryland. He has served as their
President for the last 6 years. This is his first National office.
He was elected as a 2-Year Director at the 2008 National Convention. This is
the second year of his term. Art is very active in his chapter and works closely with Chapter 9 at various veteran events in Washington D.C., including Memorial Day and Veterans Day at Arlington National Cemetery, and RADs at the local military installations. He currently serves as the state spokesman for the State of Maryland enlisted retirees. He is currently testifying regarding the Income Tax Modification and Relief bill. He served in the U.S. Army from July 15, 1960. through August 31, 1980. He retired as an E-7, SFC. He had tours in Germany, Greenland, England, Vietnam and Korea. His last tourn was an NCOIC Department of Nursing Education, which included teaching the curriculum. He resides in Gambrills, MD.
