John Martinez has been a member of TREA since 1986,
but didn't become actively involved in TREA activities until his
retirement in 2003. He has served as the Chapter 29 Sergeant-At Arms,
and currently serves as their Past Chapter President. He has also served
on the Chapter 29
Honor Guard. John has served on the National Board of Directors since
2005. At the National Convention in Rapid City, he was elected to the
position of 3rd Vice President. He will be chairing the Scholarship
Committee and is Vice Chair of the Membership Committee. John served as a Contractor Salesman in the Construction Industry, and served as a Technical Representative working with high school students in classroom and field training for over 12 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1980, after serving 26 years. He retired as the Chief C&E Plans and Programs Manager with the Air Force Communications Command. He received a Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. John also belongs to the VFW and Moose. John and his wife Shirley reside in Rapid City, SD.
