Collins Dupre "C.D." Rice, Jr. was born June 30, 1933, in
Jonesville, SC. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951. Firefighting was his
primary occupation, and he later became a training specialist. He retired in September
1971. C.D. has a BA in Business Administration and an MA in Management/ Human Relations. His post military career included the Department of Interior, the USDA, U.S. General Accounting Office, Ford Motor Company, back to the Department of Interior, and then the USDA, until he retired in 1995. He joined TREA in 1980 as a member of Chapter 3 in Aurora, CO. He became a Life Member in 1985. At the chapter level he has served as Recording Secretary and Treasurer, and chaired the Scholarship Committee and Financial Committee. At the national level he has served as Director, chaired Bylaws and Standing Rules and Public Relations Committees. He has also served on Ad Hoc Committees. He has served on the National Board since being appointed as the VSO in 2001. He served as National Director in 2008. He is actively involved in community and chapter activities. C.D. and his wife, Jessie, reside in Denver, CO. They have six children and ten grandchildren.
