JULY 1989 TO JUNE 1990

National Convention was held in Washington DC, July 26-29, 1989, the theme of the convention was "TREA's Future Is Now." Officers elected/appointed:

President - George Smith
1st Vice - Albert G. Ybanez
2nd Vice - Jack Cotton
3rd Vice - Robert Eckford
Treasurer - Bill Evert
2 Yr. Director – Donald Jarvis
2 Yr. Director – Robert Navarra
2 Yr. Director – C.E. (Chuck) Wright
1 Yr. Director – H. C. Boyd
1 Yr. Director – Faye Custenborder
1 Yr. Director – Glenn Hughes

As the results of a membership survey in November 1987, the Board of Directors is looking into the feasibility of a TREA Retirement Community and a TREA job placement service. Both of these services could be provided by STEP (Services To Enlisted People, Inc of Orlando, FL).

TREA Chapter 29 offered a 1st Edition Commemorative Silver Coin, honoring the 25th Anniversary of TREA. These coins were .999 troy ounce and numbered to 1000. The first 65 were reserved for TREA Chapters, i.e., Chapter 1 – Coin 1, Chapter 9 – Coin 9.
