Dear Student:
Thank you for your interest in The Retired Enlisted Association’s National Scholarship program. An application for TREA National Scholarship (TREA Form #100-94) for the 2010 program is enclosed. The postmark deadline for submitting a Scholarship Application is April 30, 2010. Completed applications CANNOT be received at TREA National Headquarters before January 2, 2010.
Your attention is directed to the following requirements that must be met in order for your application to be favorably considered by the Committee.
Complete your application carefully and completely. Incomplete or illegible applications will be returned.
All applicants must have dependent status as defined by the Internal Revenue Service. Adults or emancipated children are not eligible.
All applicants must have a parent, grandparent or great-grandparent who is a member in good standing of The Retired Enlisted Association or TREA’s National Auxiliary or a deceased TREA or TREA Auxiliary member in good standing at time of his/her demise. No exceptions will be made.
Applicants will be required to write an essay on the following topic and send it with your application:
v Why I chose a 2-year or 4-year school versus going into the military or public service.
3. TREA’s National Scholarship Program deals with YOUR future plans, personality, background, and even community involvement. These are but a few of the factors considered by our Scholarship Committee members in granting awards. Please do not hesitate to call this office if your have any questions regarding this application.
