Memorial Foundation

The TREA Memorial Foundation was established as a charitable tax exempt organization in 1990. The Foundation is a Code Section 501c(3) of the IRS. The Foundation was organized to provide charitable and educational assistance to its members and to receive and disburse donations received through its Direct Mail Program (Armed Forces Aid Campaign [AFAC]), wills and personal contributions. The mission of the Foundation is to support fellow veterans both active duty and retired, their families, military widows/widowers, and children as necessary to provide assistance during their time of need. The programs of the Foundation include educational scholarships for the children and grandchildren of TREA members, benevolent assistance to active duty personnel, veterans and their families who are faced with adversity, and disaster relief for veterans and their families who are victims of natural disasters. Memorial Foundation Board of Trustees and Committee Members

The TREA Memorial Foundation is managed by the Chairman and five Trustees. These individuals devote an extraordinary amount of their time to the Foundation. Their only reward is knowing they are helping the Wounded Warriors from the War on Terror as well as active duty and retired veterans. The members do not receive a salary. They’re all retired military veterans, volunteers, and patriots. Even more remarkable is that most of these individuals have served on the Foundation for many years. For information pertaining to any of our programs, contact: TREA Memorial Foundation, 1111 S. Abilene Ct., Aurora, CO 80012, or via e-mail to: treahq@trea.org

Memorial Foundation Scholarship Program

The Foundation Scholarship Program provides scholarships to the children and grandchildren of TREA members as well as members serving in the War on Terror. The number of scholarships is dictated by funding received from grants, fundraisers and bequests, as well as funds received from the AFAC Program and the Combined Federal Campaign.

Memorial Foundation Armed Forces Aid Campaign (AFAC)

This program was established in 2004 though a fundraising enterprise. Funds from this program provide assistance to active duty and retired veterans involved in Afghanistan, Iraq and the War on Terror worldwide. Priority assistance will be given to persons who are permanently disabled or handicapped as a result of combat related activity and includes the families of those killed or missing in action. Through AFAC fundraising, the Foundation has provided financial aid to enhance the morale and living conditions of our troops. The Foundation has provided both tangible and various morale support items to the wounded warriors helping them on their road to recovery. Additionally, AFAC funds have also provided: Scholarships, a newly instituted program providing Commissary grocery cards for families in need, international phone cards, Vocational Educational Training for those leaving the military and need assistance in transitioning to civilian life, prostheses and canine dogs for wounded veterans in the USA, financial assistance to Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Distress Disorder (PTSD) victims, and much more. Support has been provided to active duty military, veterans, Reserve and National Guard members through contributions by individuals and organizations. AFAC is registered in all fifty states as a charitable organization authorized to conduct fundraising activities.

Memorial Foundation Disaster Assistance

Assistance may be made available to all residents of the United States and its territories. Assistance may be provided through national relief agencies such as the American Red Cross and disbursed to the public as determined by the recipient agency. However, when any other method of disbursement is used, the Foundation’s Board of Trustees will establish priorities favorable to enlisted retirees and/or dependent family members. Individuals who qualify for benevolent assistance, may apply for benevolent, rather than disaster assistance, even if their need arises from a disaster.

Memorial Foundation Benevolent Assistance

This fund provides financial assistance to families of veterans who are faced with adversity. Funds from this program provide assistance to eligible veterans.
